Believe Act Live Manifest Inc. is a Non-profit Social Enterprise incorporated federally in Canada. We are focused on empowering the community we live and work in and beyond. BALM Inc was founded by three Black Women of East African descent.
FAMILY COHESION
BALM’s family cohesion program will focus on keeping the family unit together; Influencing behaviour change in social welfare and provide a separate program focused on men’s role and contribution.
We aim to address the challenges of disappointment within families, particularly around parents who abandon the home or children who leave prematurely.
Our program will provide a safe place to enable target families to face the truth and access resources and tools provided in the program to make changes.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Social Enterprise. BALM aims to use profit for good by engaging Black people and other equity seeking People of Color in entrepreneurial ventures. This will offer an avenue for key BALM target audiences to leverage the education they receive about the danger of complacency, sub-optimizing on their potential to succeed and settling for less than the best possible outcomes.The Program will challenge them to adopt an entrepreneurial mind-set.
RESEARCH & EDUCATION
The saying that Knowledge is Power has been around since the 16TH Century. BALM recognizes that the lack and limitation of information and resources impacts one’s awareness of the opportunities and the best ways of embracing the challenges in everyday life.
Through Research and Education, BALM aims to provide the information, resources, tools and learning opportunities for communities of equity seeking Black peoples and other People equity seeking people of Color. BALM aims to achieve this by:
Empowering skilled professionals for career success.
Black professionals do not have the same level of opportunity to advance their careers as their non-Black counterparts in the workplace.
